Approvals bind to content
Approve 500. Edit to 50,000. It will not post.
A clerk’s role carries a spending ceiling enforced at the point of posting — not by hiding a button. Anything over it is held for approval, and the approval records a fingerprint of exactly what was asked: the accounts, the amounts, the lines, the date. Change any of it afterwards and the fingerprint no longer matches.
Then, every night at 03:30, 114 checks run against the books and report anything wrong — and repair nothing.

How it works
Ledger, end to end.
-
01
Work through a six-step setup wizard, or import from Zoho Books, QuickBooks Online, Xero or Tally — reversible for thirty days
-
02
Raise an invoice with a posting code that chooses the accounts for you; post it
-
03
Receive the money and settle it against the open invoices in one action
-
04
Import the bank statement, reconcile to exactly zero, run depreciation and schedules
-
05
Chase who owes you with letters your own staff wrote, netting off credits
-
06
Close the month against a checklist that names every blocker in advance; file the tax return; close the year
What's inside
Nothing stored. Nothing hidden. Nothing quietly changed.
The ledger
No balance is stored anywhere. Cash, what each customer owes, profit and the balance sheet are summed from posted lines when you ask, so nothing can drift. A posted entry cannot be edited or deleted by anyone — seven database-level rules refuse it — and corrections are made by reversal, which leaves both the mistake and the fix on the record. An entry must balance to exactly zero, with no tolerance.
Sales, purchases, banking
Invoices, credit notes, receipts, bills and payments with open-item settlement. Bank statements in by CSV, OFX/QFX or SWIFT MT940 with a saved column map per bank and a preview that says money in or money out against each row. Reconciliation that completes only at exactly zero and keeps every match readable years later. Transfers, deposit slips and a post-dated cheque register.
Collections, payment runs, assets, schedules
A dunning ladder written in your own words, one letter per customer per run, credits netted off, a letter that cancels itself if the customer pays while it waits. Payment runs approved by fingerprint, released to the bank, then posted. A fixed-asset register with three depreciation methods and a preview before anything posts. Deferred revenue, prepayments, accruals and budgets against actuals.
Control
Sixteen permissions across five built-in roles with allow, deny or inherit — deny always wins — and spending ceilings enforced at the point of posting. An approval binds to the content: approve 500, edit to 50,000, and it will not post. An append-only, hash-chained audit trail. Nine financial reports, aged reports re-runnable for any past date, and 114 integrity checks every night that report and never repair.
The difference
Software that checks itself every night and refuses to repair anything silently.
A failing check is the evidence of the bug that caused it. Rules suggest, they never post; checks report, they never repair; the depreciation job prepares a batch and stops. Everything that most accounting products automate away is a deliberate human decision here — and every one of those decisions is on the record.
Questions
Asked about Ledger.
Is Ledger available yet?
No. Ledger is built and working in our testing environment but it has not been released. It is not available to customers and has no users. We will announce when it ships.
Can I invoice in more than one currency?
No — deliberately. Ledger works in exactly one currency, locked once your first transaction is posted, because changing a currency without converting every historic figure would silently restate your history. If you invoice in several currencies, Ledger is not the right tool for you.
What happens if I make a mistake after posting?
You reverse it. Ledger posts an exact mirror, so both the error and the correction stay visible. Nothing is ever edited or deleted in place; the database itself refuses it.
How do I know the numbers are right?
Every figure is added up from the transactions themselves, so there is no cache to drift. Posted entries cannot be altered. And 114 checks run every night looking for the specific ways books go wrong — reporting to you rather than fixing anything quietly.
Shared with every Ovvos tool
One login, one look. The same frame, lists, alerts, light and dark mode and two densities across the whole platform. Learn one tool and you know them all.
One inbox. Anything that needs a person — a new lead, a leave request, a failed check — lands in one platform-wide inbox with a link straight to the record.
Your company only. Every screen, report and export is limited to your own company, enforced on every request — not by hiding buttons.
Your own copy. Most tools are generated per department: name it, choose its icon, grant your people. Two teams can run the same tool and never see each other's data.
Ask to be told when Ledger ships.
We will show it on a demo account, and be clear that it is not for sale yet.
